Covid-19

For those who wish to see us in person, please read the following carefully and remember that this may change based on information coming from our regulatory body:

Covid-19 Self Pre-Screening

We will be prioritizing and continuing to triage our patients to ensure we can meet the requirements set by Physiotherapy Alberta.

Before attending your appointment, you will be asked to the following, if any of the following apply we will be unable to see you in the clinic at this time:

  • Are you experiencing signs or symptoms of Covid 19? (cough, fever, sore throat, loss of smell, runny nose)

If any of your answers change before your appointment please do not come to the clinic. We will re-book you to a time that is safe to be seen. Cancellation fees are waived at this time.

Steps for your Appointment

  • If you have access to a clean mask, we ask that you consider wearing one for your appointment
  • If you need to change into shorts or a t-shirt we ask that you bring your own clothes to change into
  • All staff will undergo enhanced daily screening and will also be wearing masks
  • All patients are required to use hand sanitizer upon entry and exit of our clinics
  • Forms will be sent virtually whenever possible and we ask they are filled our pre-appointment
  • except in urgent situations the washrooms at both clinics are temporarily for staff use only
  • Verbal consent will be obtained at the clinic
  • Waiting rooms will be distanced or eliminated if possible
  • Ongoing enhanced infection control, sterilization and PPE practices are in place
  • Other changes such as less treatment rooms in use and less practitioners in at a time have been made to allow for greater physical distancing
  • Our clinicians will be wearing gloves and cloth or surgical masks for your protection
  • If you are unable to abide by the above requirements, we will be unable to provide treatment services to you at this time.

Clinic Update: December 9th

With the most recent Alberta Government Covid-19 restrictions announced yesterday, there will be some changes to Strive Physiotherapy services in the coming weeks:

  • Unfortunately, Massage Therapy will be closed at the end of business Saturday, December 13th for an as-yet undetermined amount of time. If you have a massage booked after December 14th, we will be contacting you to re-arrange your appointment.
  • Physiotherapy services remain open on a one-to-one basis, and via Telehealth appointment. Please arrive on time for your appointment so that you can take advantage of the full treatment time with your physiotherapist.
  • Where at all possible, we would like to see our patients virtually via Telehealth appointments. This is in keeping with the guidelines from Physiotherapy Alberta and so that we can do our bit to help reduce the spread
  • We will be promoting local businesses throughout December to help #supportlocal. Follow us on Instagram for more information!

As always, if you have any questions, our office staff are happy to take your calls and e-mails.

Stay warm and safe!

Clinic Update: October 5th

Happy fall! We are continuing to offer both virtual and in-clinic care to patients with enhanced social distancing and cleaning policies in place. As we are getting busier again we have made some changes to our cancellation policy:

  • If you cancel within 24 hours of your appointment time for any reason other than covid, our standard cancellation policy applies. Please read your booking confirmation e-mail or the online booking form for more information.

  • If you cancel your appointment due to illness, we will make every effort to switch your appointment to a virtual session unless you are too ill to do so. To ensure the safety of our staff, all further appointments will be switched to virtual until you have been symptom free for 10 days.

Clinic Update: June 10th

The Government of Alberta announced on Tuesday that Alberta will be moving forward with phase 2 of the provincial re-launch plan. We are pleased to announce that Amanda will be open for massage appointments starting June 15th. She will be working at a reduced capacity to adhere to clinic cleaning guidelines and to ensure patient health and safety is optimal.

Please read the “Before your appointment” page on the website before arriving for your massage to familiarize yourself with our covid-19 clinic policies and procedures.

Clinic Update: May 4th

On April 30th the Government of Alberta announced the CMOH Order-07 would be changed to allow for physiotherapy businesses to begin in-clinic care if they were able to meet the standards set out by their regulatory bodies. In careful consultation with the Physiotherapy Alberta College and AHS resources we have enhanced our policies and procedures and are ready to slowly and carefully resume in clinic care.

What Does This Mean?

  • Appointments will look a bit different than they did before. We are taking a cautious and measured approach to resuming operations. You may not get an appointment on the day or the time that you want, as we will have limited available spaces to ensure we have the time needed to carry out our enhanced procedures.
  • We are encouraging those who can continue their treatment via our virtual platform to do so.

  • For those who need to stay at home for whatever reason, we are still available for virtual treatments through our Telehealth Program.

  • Please review our current policies and procedures before visiting our clinics.

Days to Come

During additional phases of the Government of Alberta’s strategy, our goal will be to unwind measures only as the Alberta government and the Physiotherapy Alberta college informs us that it is safe to do so. While we are excited and optimistic that we get to see you in the clinic again the health and safety of our patients, staff and all Albertans remains our number one priority.

Thank You!

Thank you for understanding our role as primary healthcare providers in Alberta. We continue to be here for you, whether on the phone, over video-conference or in person if appropriate. Together we will adapt to our new normal and continue to find innovative ways to provide the high quality of care we strive to deliver.
